Rebecca Peel (b. 1990, Colorado, US) is an artist, writer, and curator living between Portland, OR and New York, NY. She received her BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2013. Rebecca founded Amur Initiatives Media and Research Group in 2013, and has most recently exhibited her personal work in Portland, Toronto, Columbus, San Francisco, and New York City. Recent exhibitions include a window show with American Medium in Brooklyn, a group exhibition with Group Club Association in Brooklyn, and an emerging artist residency with Centrum in Port Townsend, Washington. She has published pieces of writing in various independent publications, and will be completing a collection of her own written works within the year.
John Knight (b. 1986, Cincinnati, OH) is an artist based in Portland, OR. Currently he is a co-director of Cherry & Lucic, a curatorial project in a dilapidated garage in Northeast Portland. He is the cofounder of H. Klum Fine Art, a gallery on permanent hiatus which was located working class housing complex in Portland. Knight is also a contributor to Amur-Initiatives Media and Research, an online curatorial platform. In 2014, he was invited to participate with the Rainmaker Artist Residency’s inaugural program. Knight also participated as a resident artist at both DIY Printing in Cincinnati and the New York Arts Practicum in 2013. He hold’s master’s in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art and a bachelors degree in Sculpture from the University of Cincinnati. Recent exhibitions include: Flamethrowers Predicting Rain at Pear Gallery, What Color the Sky? at Par Projects and Reducto ad Absurdum at Third Party Gallery in Cincinnati; THE CHICKEN AND THE HOG, Graphic Corollary Set No 1. with Amur-Initiatives, THE RIDICULIZED PIGS at Pockets Full of Posies Daycare/Childcare Center and Meaningless Less Meaning at (pronounced: mess-ah) Project Space in Portland; and MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY! at EXO Project Space in Chicago, IL.
