About the juror:
Srijon Chowdhury (b. 1987, Bangladesh) is a painter, installation artist, and curator. His work presents, as a feeling, an idea of a version of a history.
Chowdhury has exhibited both nationally internationally, including at The Art Gym, Upfor (Portland), Antoine Levi (Paris), Foxy Production (NY), Klowden Mann (LA), Out of Sight (Seattle), Vox Populi (Philadelphia), the Torrance Art Museum (LA), Sector 2337 (Chicago), and The Gallery (Dhaka). He received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission in 2018 and a Precipice Fund grant from the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art in 2017.
Chowdhury is the founder of the Utopian Visions Art Fair, which debuted as part of PICA’s T:BA Festival in 2018, and he is the co-founder and curator of Chicken Coop Contemporary in Portland, OR.
He currently lives and works in Portland, OR and Los Angeles, CA.
