I wanted a body of work that came out of my own conception. Instead of using found imagery that I didn’t have a role with from the beginning, I invented a process to make images from a malleable material that could be recycled to make new images. This series became a labor-intensive, meditative routine with limiting parameters. It was then possible to modify the variables to create new representations.

Erik White was born in Salt Lake City, UT. He studied printmaking and painting at Portland State University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Art Practices. He is currently residing in Portland, OR.
